Since its inception, the PRECISE study has enrolled over 8,700 women across the Gambia, Kenya and Mozambique. the PRECISE achieved high acceptance rates within communities, and laid a foundation for robust maternal-child health research platforms. The project also emphasizes community engagement to create awareness, gather feedback, and promote understanding of the study’s activities.

In Kenya, PRECISE study was led by Aga Khan University’s Centre of Excellence in Women and Child Health, East Africa, in partnership with Kilifi County. Through state-of-the-art research and community engagement, the team collected comprehensive clinical data, including blood pressure, maternal samples, and pregnancy outcomes. These efforts aimed to enhance the understanding of pregnancy-related complications while building sustainable research infrastructures in participating regions. The team also took part in building capacity in maternal health research across Kilifi County.

The PRECISE study exemplifies the power of evidence-based research in shaping healthier futures for mothers, babies, and communities.
